-Boats must remain within a 200km radius of pickup location/boat storage.

-Renters must read the Transport Canada Safe Boating Guide.

-A Pleasure Craft License or proof of competency is mandatory. We strongly recommend that all individuals renting a boat have a pleasure craft operator card. Without this card you will be required to complete a Rental Boat Safety Checklist at the time of rental and carry the co-signed copy with you during the rental period as proof of competency.

-Operators must be 21 years of age or older.  Renters from the USA must provide proof of equivalent boating experience but remains at the discretion of Ottawa Boat Rentals.

-Towing of any items, including tubes, water skis, kneeboards, or any other watersports equipment that requires a tow rope, is strictly prohibited.

-Waiver forms are available online and must be read and signed by each member of the group. 

-Swimming around the boat while the engine is running is strictly prohibited.

-Life jackets must be worn at all times while in the boat.

-Smoking, alcohol use, and or drug use during operation of the boat, in the boat, while in care and control of the boat, and prior to using the boat are strictly prohibited and can result in criminal penalties. 

-Cleaning or gutting fish inside the boat is prohibited.

In the event that a boat becomes unavailable for the entire rental period due to non-operator induced mechanical issues, Ottawa Boat Rentals reserves the right to substitute it with another available boat. If a boat is damaged during the rental period and becomes unusable, no substitutions or refunds will be provided.
